GRADUATE THESIS (10TH SEMESTER)
The subject for thesis was taken up primarily as an architectural research spanning 6 academic months to analyse the applicative relevance of new design principals for this secondary habitat.
Office Headquarters for Godrej, Mumbai, is a live project for one of the leading business & manufaturing houses in the country. Case studies and other relevant explorations included theories put forward by Ar. Francis Duffy, office developments in India and abroad, services, materials & working environments, dynamism with office space with its roots in High Tech Movement, works of EOM, Coop-Himmelblau, Archigram, philosophies of Futurism, alternatives by John M Johansen, aesthetic representations from Gaudi to Gehry, concepts put forward by Japanese Metabolists & Kahn and the Deconstruction Movement. The analysis was presented as a report prior to the commencement of the design development.
The project received a gold medal for being the most outstanding thesis defense and got published in the India‘s leading architectural journal, A+D.
